PODS Community Resources

The Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) Association is a non‑profit, non-political  member‑driven community that delivers the industry’s trusted pipeline data model, adopted by operators, service providers, vendors, and regulators worldwide. The PODS Standard—supported by an active, collaborative community—is the most effective and scalable foundation for building a GIS Digital Twin and modern pipeline data management program for now and the future. Since 1998, PODS has been adopted in 40 countries at 200+ Operators supporting over 3 Million miles of pipeline and systems.

The PODS Community enjoys a comprehensive PODS-centric resource center for its members, offering access to educational materials and certifications, extensive curated GIS data to support pipeline operations, risk and compliance worldwide as well as US and Canadian state and federal regulatory updates.

PODS Community

Get involved by attending a community event or volunteering for a committee! Or sign up for a new workgroup to expand PODS 7 to support the development of a brand new standardized water pipeline data model or help to create prescribed business processes for the first time in the Regulatory/Integrity Task Workgroup.
PODS members gain access to this PODS LMS (Learning Management System) which is a training library including training videos, webinars, white papers, PODScasts, and more, tailored to pipeline operations, maintenance, and integrity, with opportunities to suggest new training topics. PODS Curated Data Resources

As part of your PODS Membership, you have unlimited access to the PODS Data Resource Center providing thousands of live GIS datasets managed by global atlases and government entities, including weather radar, lidar, orthophotography, and emergency response data. These datasets are live, free to use, and do not consume server space, and integrate seamlessly with Esri platforms for risk and integrity management. These links contain multiple feature services, often managing up to 200 unique GIS datasets.

PODS Regulatory Resources

Members have unlimited access to Canada Energy Regulator (CER) updates as well as US federal and state pipeline regulatory information, helping them stay compliant and informed about pipeline safety and regulations through links to agencies like CER, PHMSA and state commissions.
